The MFL department aims to nurture an interest and appreciation of language and culture and enable students to become lifelong language learners. Learning a new language helps students develop an awareness of the world and reflect on the benefits of a multicultural society with mutual respect and appreciation.

In lessons students will be given the opportunity to develop their language learning skills through a variety of strategies that are enjoyable and accessible to all. Language teaching focuses primarily on developing techniques for understanding spoken and written language and building confidence in speaking and writing, essential skills, which are transferrable to other aspects of life.  Furthermore, the department endeavours to create a stimulating environment, which reflects the needs and interests of the students.
